Short version: ListParade has no accounts, no newsletter, no ads and no third-party analytics or trackers, and it sets no cookies. We run our own small visit counter to learn which guides are useful. It doesn't know who you are, and you can switch it off.

What our visit counter records

When you read a page, your browser sends us a short note with:

  • the page, the site that sent you (just its name, such as a search engine) and any campaign tag in the link (for example utm_source=pinterest);
  • how far down the page you scrolled and roughly how long you were active on it;
  • which links you clicked, including which eBay listing and the price shown, and which filters or sort options you used;
  • your screen width, browser and device type, language setting, and the country our hosting provider detects from the connection.

To count unique visitors without storing who they are, our server combines your IP address and browser details with a secret and the date, and keeps only the resulting one-way code. The code changes every day and can't be turned back into your IP address. We never store your IP address. Visit records are deleted automatically after about 13 months.

We use these records only to improve the site: which guides people read, which parts help, and which links work. We don't combine them with any other data, use them to profile you, or share them with anyone. Our basis for this is our legitimate interest in running a useful site, and you can opt out at any time (below).

Cookies and browser storage

Our pages set no cookies and load no tracking pixels or third-party scripts. Fonts and our own images are served from our own domains. We use your browser's storage for two small things only:

  • Your privacy choice (lp_consent, kept until you clear it), so the notice doesn't keep asking.
  • A visit ID (lp_sid, a random code in session storage, deleted when you close the tab), only after you choose OK. It lets the counter see that several pages belong to one visit. Until you choose, the ID lives in the page's memory and is gone when you leave.

If you choose Don't count me, the counter stops sending anything from your browser. You can change your mind at any time: .

eBay

Product photos in listings load from eBay's image servers, so eBay receives the standard request data for those images. When you follow a link to eBay, eBay sets its own cookies, including one that credits us for the referral (see our affiliate disclosure). That happens on eBay's site under eBay's privacy notice, and you can manage it in eBay's cookie settings.

Hosting and service providers

The site is hosted on Vercel and our data is stored with MongoDB Atlas. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We also log visits from search engine crawlers and other bots by their published name, to see how search engines read the site.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or share personal information.
  • We don't run advertising, targeted or otherwise, or track you across other sites.
  • We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Email

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and we delete the conversation when it's no longer needed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU and UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, and to object to how it's used. Our visit records hold no name, email or IP address, and the daily code can't be linked back to you, so we usually can't find a person's records in them; the opt-out above stops new ones. For anything else, including emails you sent us, write to hello@listparade.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If what we collect changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top before it happens.
